Reopening of The Square Youth Cafe and Hellingly Youth Hub (19/04/21)
Hailsham Youth Service is pleased to announce that it has reopened some of its centres from this week, in line with the latest guidance concerning coronavirus protection measures. The Square Youth Cafe in the town centre has reopened on weekdays and the newly established Hellingly Youth Hub on Wednesday evenings.
HYS to Host Mental Health First Aid Training Course (19/04/21)
Hailsham Youth Service will be hosting a mental health first aid course at the end of April for its staff team, local police officers, schools and other local youth organisations. The course will help staff to use enhanced interpersonal skills and be able to spot the signs of mental health issues and feel confident to step in, reassure and support a young person in distress.
Hailsham Youth Service Active During Lockdown (01/02/21)
During the lockdown, young people can join in on discussions, take part in activities and keep in touch with the youth worker team via social media, including their Facebook and Instagram pages. Furthermore, the team continues to provide detached (outreach) youth work provision in specific areas identified as needing further support during the pandemic.
Hellingly Youth Hub Receives Community Matters Funding (09/12/20)
Hellingly Youth Hub has received £333 from a Waitrose grant, part of the retailer’s Community Matters package of support. The funding received will go towards the costs involved in helping local young people through various projects at the Hellingly Youth Hub, which operates at the new Community Hub building in Hellingly on Wednesday evenings...........
Youth Service Receives Further COVID Funding (16/11/20)
Hailsham Youth Service has received £333 from a Waitrose grant, part of the retailer’s Community Matters package of support for local communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding received by Waitrose will go towards the costs involved in helping local young people through various COVID projects at the Square Youth Cafe..........
Reopening of Square Youth Cafe in Hailsham (07/10/20)
Hailsham Town Council's youth centres will gradually start to open their doors again from 5 October with the reopening of the Square Youth Cafe in the town centre. Hailsham Youth Service had to close its centres and suspend all of its face to face activities in late March, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic..........
Hailsham Youth Service Receives COVID-19 Funding (01/10/20)
Hailsham Youth Service, which provides activities, support services and opportunities for young people in the local area, has received £500 from a Tesco grant, part of the retailer’s £52million package of support for local communities affected by the COVID-19 and lockdown earlier this year...........
Detached Team Works to Help Through Pandemic (09/09/20)
In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic and in liaison with Sussex Police and other authorities, Hailsham Youth Service has remobilised its detached provision in specific areas identified as needing further support during this difficult time.........
